THE MOVIE: The Problem of Evil is an independent feature-length movie which will be shot in Idaho and California this summer. The screenplay contains no profanity, sexuality, or gratuitous violence. The story, which includes LDS overtones yet is not blatantly Mormon, concerns a student who participates in a classroom demonstration of a mock murder, and how some friends work together to prove that the murder actually did, in fact, take place.
Principal photography will begin on July 21 2008 and continue for approximately six weeks, ending around August 31. Most scenes will be shot in and around Rexburg, with the remaining photography taking place in Northern California.
CASTING CALL: Auditions will be held on Wednesday, June 25, at Elite Talent in Idaho Falls, beginning at 6:00 PM,
COMPENSATION: Speaking roles will be compensated at a rate of $40 per full day or $20 per half day, plus daily snacks and meals, your name in the closing credits, and free copies of the completed DVD. Non-speaking roles, crew positions and extras will receive copy, credit and meals. Travel costs to California will be covered. This is a non-SAG production, though anyone is welcome to participate.

- EVAN. Male, 20-25, student - intelligent, genuine, determined, obsessive hand-washer, romantic
- JUSTIN. Male, 20-25, student – risk taker, complex, fun on the outside yet very tough on the inside
- LAMBERT. Male, 48-58, police detective - rough around the edges with a heart of gold, Idaho farmer type
- ANTON. Male, 38-48, philosophy professor – pedantic, erudite, pushy, sometimes paranoid, evil
- LINDA. Female, 20-25, actor/student – naïve yet intelligent, like a teenager, curious, risk taker
- JONES. Male, 35 – 45, psychology professor
- MELISSA. Female, 20-25, student
- EARL. Male, 70+, police receptionist, hard of hearing
- SCOTT. Male, 20-25, student
- RACHEL. Female, 20-25, student
- OTHER MINOR SPEAKING ROLES. 11 roles, male and female, mostly student aged
